Four bookmarks - FINISHED!
Since the last WIPocalypse update, I have finished four bookmarks and another month of the Prairie Schooler Spring & Fall series.  My WIPocalypse page is slowly shrinking and my Finishes 2012 page is growing!

The frog finally found me!

Arrrgh!  This supposedly simple bookmark has been such a challenge!  I started it in February and finally got back to it now, since I'm sending several bookmarks to my friend's nieces as back-to-school gifts. This free chart is from Lady Kell of Kincavel.

I seemed to have a good start the first day:
Then I was happily stitching away (and watching TV at the same time) and somehow missed an entire letter! Oops! My daughter thought it was so funny that she told me to take a picture before I fixed it.
Then I was making great progress on the flower border, but noticed that I was one stitch too low, so I carefully ripped out 20 stitches to fix the problem (circled in pink).
I re-stitched that part, one stitch higher (circled in pink), but THEN I noticed that I had left a space, one stitch over to the right (circled in green).  Bummer!
So I ripped out all those stitches back to that point, and not so carefully this time!  See all my shreds of floss in the glass star shaped ORT dish.

I hope that frog is done with me now and finds his way to someone else instead!  Wish me luck to get this bookmark finished without any more rip-rip-ripping!

Days #36-#38 and SAL updates!

Linda and I have a Monday snowman SAL.  I have Mr. Mittens and she has Snow Pals.  We have been stitching a little every Monday and finally posted an update pic.

For our Wednesday SAL, I have BBQ Queen and Linda has Lady Liberty, both by Diane Arthurs.

Day #36 is The Bear and the Bees by Prairie Schooler.  Linda also started the same chart, but she stitched the bear and I stitched the bees!  I am using 14 ct Fiddler's cloth.

Day #37 is Hands Off My Book, a bookmark designed by Lady Kell of Kincavel.  This is a free chart from her blog.  I am using variegated purple floss on an 18 ct ivory Aida bookmark.

Day #38 is All's Good in the 'Hood, also designed by Lady Kell of Kincavel.  This one was not a freebie, and I bought this chart from Kincavel Krosses.  I am using variegated dark red floss on 14 ct Dirty Aida.  This will be a gift for my son.  I think it will look great in his house, instead of the usual "Home Sweet Home" sampler!
