Hen on Nest - finished!

I finished another kit from my Crazy January Challenge! It came with this frame, but it's not mounted yet, in case my mom would rather have it in an 8x10 frame with a mat. This is not supposed to look like an actual chicken, but rather one of those glass hen candy dishes. My mom has one in an orange-brown glass color. She will probably display it next to this picture in her dining room.

Hen on Nest update #4

I'm getting close to the finish line on this project! I still need to finish the border, two eggs, a tail feather, and backstitching. I will give this to my mom for her birthday in May.

This gift for my mom is coming right along! I think it will be done pretty soon, and then I can pick up something else from my Crazy January Challenge.

I see that I have almost 50 followers! Wow! I will have some kind of giveaway to celebrate when I hit that milestone. Thanks to everyone for following my stitching!

Hen on Nest update #2

I've been stitching away on this gift for my mom. The brown floss colors are a little darker than shown in the picture, but it will be OK. It is stitched with 3 threads. This is easy to stitch because there are blocks of color.

Hen on Nest update #1

I kind of pooped out on the Crazy January Challenge.  I still have to start on the small items for Days #9-15.  I've been stitching on "Hen on Nest" for my mom.  Here is a little progress, along with a pic of what it will look like when it's finished:

Day #6 - Hen on Nest

I bought this kit at a Creative Circle home party in the 1980s.  Thanks to the Crazy January Challenge, I finally opened the package and got started on it!  I am going to stitch this for my mom, who has her dining room and kitchen decorated with chickens and cows.  It comes with the frame and batting, and will be 5" x 7".
