WOCS - Butterfly - finished!

I finished this cute butterfly for World of Charity Stitching. They are going to make a quilt with 36 butterflies in different colors with different fabric around each one. I am so happy to stitch these small squares and know they will be part of something beautiful.

Started 8/19/11, Finished 9/15/11

I was surprised to be mentioned by Connie Barwick at the Craft Gossip blog! You may recognize her from Crossstitch.About.com.

Linda and I both missed our SAL last Friday, but I got a little more stitching done tonight on "Trick or Treat" by Ursula Michael.  This lemon yellow color #307 is bright and cheery.  I love stitching with this color floss!  Do you have a favorite color to stitch with?

Hi Debbie - I'm not sure I have a favourite colour, but I love stitching with bright colours. I recently had a lot to do in browns and ecrus, and various shades in between. It was not fun.

My fave DMC color is 333, but I love to stitch with any shade of purple, green, pink, or blue. Love 995 too. And 208, 209, 210, and 211. Um, my fave red is 666. And I always end up using tons of 310. I also prefer B5200 to white. Grats on the progress you're making. And on the finish!! It's lovely. Purple is my fave color though, so I'm a little prejudiced, lol. Grats on the mention too. Now you've arrived, lol. Kudos to you!!

Julie just stole most of my comment!! I'm stitching with 333 at the moment and loving it, combined with yellow 973 in a two-colour sampler. I also love those 208 series she mentioned AND I always use B5200 instead of white.

Where did you get the chart for this? I love it and would like to do it too.
Thanks, Pat

Hi Pat, I hope you see this comment, since your email is set to no-reply. The Butterfly chart is available at the World of Charity Stitching Yahoo Group. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WOCS/
They already have 36 signed up to stitch butterflies for the quilt, but you can still download the chart from the Files section of the Yahoo group. They accept any cross stitch pieces, not just for quilts. Some ladies in the group sew them onto tote bags, walker bags, wheelchair bags, and more. Come join us!
