Back from the framer!

I just picked these up from my framing friend!  This is Quaker Moon by Bent Creek.  I found the perfect black square frame at a thrift store for $1 and she only charged me for mounting it.

This is Mary's Sampler II by Plum Street Samplers.  This is another thrift store frame for $1 that I thought matched the colors perfectly and I only had to pay for mounting and the gold mat!

This is I'll Get You My Pretty by Sue Hillis Designs.  I did pay for this one to be custom framed because it was an unusual size, 7" x 12".

Quaker Moon chart winner!

Thank you to everyone who was interested in the Quaker Moon chart by Bent Creek.  I wrote down all the names on slips of paper and folded them up.  I couldn't get any of my dogs or cats to pick a name for me (like Meggie's cat), so I chose one myself.

Quaker Moon - FINISHED!
The next stitcher to stitch this adorable chart is:

June WIPocalypse update and a finish!

It's another full moon (did you see the super moon?) and time for the WIPocalypse SAL update!  The focus colors this month are black and green. You can see current pics of all my WIPs on my WIPocalypse page.

I finished Quaker Moon during the GTG (get-together) on Saturday with seven women in the SoCal Cross Stitchers Yahoo group.  We stitched at the food court in the mall for almost 8 hours!

Started 1/28/2013, Finished 6/22/2013

I'll pass this chart onto another stitcher (worldwide) and hopefully the winner will give it away when she's finished, too!  Just mention in the comment if you're interested.  I'll draw a name on Sunday, June 30.

I started the next part (7 of 12) of Boo! Club by Lizzie Kate by stitching the word Pumpkin in green.
Boo! Club (Pumpkin)
I stitched the black jaw line on the Day of the Dead skull from the Twisted Stitches book.
Day of the Dead update #7
I stitched the black letter P and some of the border on Picnic Area by The Prairie Schooler.
Picnic Area update #3
I finally started stitching again on Santa Hang-Up, which I started for the Ultimate Crazy January Challenge and haven't touched it since the first day.  I'm stitching on sparkly 20 ct Valerie fabric, 2 over 2, so the X's are pretty big (10 ct size).  This is an every other weekend SAL with Linda.
Santa Hang-Up update #1
Remember to check in on Measi's blog with a link to your WIPocalypse update, too!  Next month's theme is Designer - Glendon Place, Project Theme - Animals, and Focus Colors - Red and Yellow.  I'll try to do some stitching in those categories, too!

Stitching crows, ravens, and bats!

Just for fun, my blog post has a theme today!  I worked on some of my WIPs with crows, ravens, and bats!

I stitched two crows and the tree on the Lizzie*Kate Very Scary Mystery Sampler, then rewarded myself by stitching more crows/ravens/bats on my other WIPs instead!  I'm stitching over 2 on 30 ct Weeks Dye Works Tin Roof linen.
Very Scary (Part 1) update #6
I'm stitching this Edgar Allan Poe inspired design, Quoth the Raven by Kincavel Krosses for my nephew.  This is a free chart.  I finished the word "more" and now all that is left to do is the border.  I'm stitching on 14 ct red Aida.
Quoth the Raven update #3
I stitched the bats on Quaker Moon by Bent Creek.  Isn't this one cute?  I'm stitching over 2 on 28 ct tan linen.
Quaker Moon update #4
There are also some crows flying around Picnic Area by The Prairie Schooler. This is on 14 ct dark green Aida.  The flash makes it seem brighter than it actually is.
Picnic Area update #2
Here are a few more bats on I'll Get You My Pretty by Sue Hillis Designs.  This is a free chart.  I'm stitching over 2 on 32 ct Voodoo Belfast linen by Picture This Plus.
I'll Get You My Pretty update #2
I finished all the backstitching on the top window and stitched the bats on Halloween House.  Check out the Halloween House SAL page!

This sure was fun to get a little bit done on lots of different WIPs.  Happy Stitching, everyone!

Stitching pumpkins and May TUSAL post!

Orange is a great color, and I've been stitching pumpkins and Jack o'lanterns on lots of different designs.  I thought it would be fun to post them all together!

The Lizzie*Kate Very Scary Mystery Sampler is my first time using Weeks Dye Works overdyed floss and 30 ct linen.  The design is cute but the colors just aren't bright enough for me!  I will stitch this one little by little, but everyone knows it's my least favorite WIP.  I stitched two pumpkins, then rewarded myself by stitching more pumpkins on my other WIPs instead!
Very Scary (part 1) update #5
I love this colorful Thanksgiving design, Thankful Critters, an Imaginating chart by Ursula Michael.  I stitched the bright orange pumpkin in front of the letter "T" but I used the wrong color green for the vine, so that will be ripped out.
Thankful Critters update #3
I stitched two little pumpkin faces on Quaker Moon by Bent Creek.
Quaker Moon update #3
I bought this cute Triple Jack-o-Lanterns kit by Bobbie G Designs last year.  I started stitching the striped pumpkin in the middle of the stack.
Triple Jack-o-Lanterns update #1
I stitched more pumpkins on Fall Welcome, an Imaginating chart by Diane Arthurs.
Fall Welcome update #1
I have another Imaginating chart by Diane Arthurs, Blessings Hang-Up.  I stitched two pumpkins in her basket.
Blessings Hang-Up update #1
There is another Jack o'lantern on Halloween House also!
Halloween House update #33
Another new moon, so time for another TUSAL post!  My ORT jar is really filling up this year!  Check in on Daffycat's blog with your May TUSAL blog post, too!

Stitching owls at our Saturday GTG!

On Saturday, I met up with 6 other ladies in the SoCal Cross Stitchers Yahoo Group to stitch together at the mall.  We stayed from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., stitching away all day!  If you live in Southern California, please join our Yahoo group!  For this get-together, I decided to stitch on my WIPs with owls in the designs.

Halloween House has an owl on the roof!  I also finished the rest of the roof on the very top (no more green stitching!).  Next, I will stitch the chimneys and the black cat and finish backstitching the roof.
Halloween House update #31
I stitched a row of green squares on the Lizzie*Kate Very Scary Mystery Sampler and the owl motif.
Very Scary (part 1) update #4
I stitched the outline of the crescent moon and the cute owl on Quaker Moon by Bent Creek.
Quaker Moon update #2
The next design on Boo! Club has a tiny owl in the tree branches.

We are up to 10 members in our Bothy Threads Cut Thru' Monday SAL! Watch this page for updates after Monday and feel free to join up any time!  There are also more members in the Bothy Threads Cut Thru Designs Facebook group who don't have a blog.

SoCal Cross Stitchers GTG!

I had a great day on Saturday!  Nine of the members of the Southern California Cross Stitchers Yahoo Group met at We, of the Needle for a get-together.  Kathy, Susan, Shaunterria, Sandy, Mindi, Cherise, Ruth, Janis, and I stitched and shopped and traded and ate and talked and talked all day!  I brought six different WIPs to stitch, but only did four of them.

I started Treats in the Lizzie*Kate Boo! Club series.  This is part 2 of 12.  I stitched some of the border and one of the candy corn pieces.
Boo! Club (Treats)
I did ONE row on my Lizzie*Kate Very Scary Mystery Sampler.  This is the first time I used Weeks Dye Works floss and was happy to see the changing shades of color in that dark green line!  Several of the other ladies in the group are also stitching this one.
Very Scary (Part 1) update #1
I finished the corner flower motifs and the lazy daisy stitches (my first time) on Teresa Wentzler's Hummingbird.  Now that all the over 2 stitching is done, I can start on the hummingbird in the center, which is stitched over 1.
Hummingbird update #5
I bought some Gentle Arts Sampler Threads (GAST) at the LNS for Quaker Moon.  This is also the first time I've used GAST.  I stitched the owl's eyes in Gold Leaf which is so nice and shiny!
Quaker Moon update #1
Then when I got home, I stitched on All's Good in the 'Hood from Kincavel Krosses.  I stitched more of the border along the corner and bottom using DMC 115, variegated garnet.
All's Good in the 'Hood update #2
Happy Stitchy February, everyone!

Crazy January starts 28-31

Is the Ultimate Crazy month of January over?!  I have started something new every day, and now it's time to stitch, stitch, stitch away for the rest of the year! Lucky for me, I'll get to meet the stitchy ladies of the Southern California Cross Stitchers Yahoo Group on Saturday for a get-together at We, of the Needle, a LNS that has a wonderful stitchy room reserved for us!

Day #28 is Quaker Moon by Bent Creek.  I bought this chart on my last outing with the SoCalCrossStitchers group last October.  Isn't the owl just adorable? I'm stitching over 2 on 28 ct tan linen and the finished size will be about 5.5" square.
Quaker Moon
Day #29 is Orange Poppies by Thea Gouverneur.  This is a wonderful kit!  The chart pages are nice and big and clear.  The floss was presorted on cards with the color symbols.  They do not provide any floss names or numbers, so I could never pass the chart on when I'm done.  I bought this kit from 123Stitch.  It came with a huge piece of fabric, so I'm glad I can roll it up and tuck it into the Q-Snap huggies.  I'm stitching it on 18 ct black Aida and will be 17.7" x 18.5".
Orange Poppies

Day #30 is Christmas on the Beach, a Dimensions Gold Collection kit.  I also bought this kit from 123Stitch.  You can find almost everything there!  I'm using the 18 ct white Aida in the kit and it will be 7" x 5".
Christmas on the Beach
Day #31 is Cut Thru' Pirate Ship from Bothy Threads.  This is a restart from 2012.  I had to rip out everything I did, since the fabric was turned the wrong way!  (see previous post here)  Has this ever happened to you?  Sharine asked if it counts as a new start, so I've been thinking about that ever since.  I'm going to consider it a new start effective today!  I am stitching on 18 ct light blue Aida and it will be 12" x 9".
Cut Thru' Pirate Ship
I won the chart, Let's Do Coffee, in a giveaway, so I added it to my UCJC list. The chart is on the way so I'll start it when it gets here.

Have a great stitchy February, everyone!
