Cross stitching for my daughter!

I had to follow up my last post with another about the cross stitch gifts I'm making for my daughter!  She took French in high school and has always wanted to work in Paris, so most of the things for her are in French.  She has been to Europe four times and loves to travel!

I'm stitching the free Positive Thinking SAL from Jardin Privé in French, La Pensée Positive, for her.  This is on 18 ct baby pink Aida.  I finished part 2 using Cosmo Seasons variegated floss for the words.
La Pensée Positive update #3
I'm also using VMSS floss for the rest of the design.  I just found out that Nancy of Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe is giving 10 lucky winners 5 skeins each of her hand-dyed floss in spring colors.  Her floss comes in 20-yard skeins so this is 100 yards for each winner!  Enter HERE and tell Nancy that I sent you!  Drawing on March 10.

The Hungarian Peacock Sampler will also be a gift for my daughter.  I'm using Cosmo Seasons variegated floss for this one, too.  I added another pretty peacock.

This will be a hanging sign that says Merci on one side and Thank You on the other. It is a freebie from gazette94 that you can find HERE.  I used DMC 48, variegated baby pink floss on pale green mint parfait Aida.

Another one I'm stitching for her is Leo, a freebie from Stitch Alley, since that is her zodiac sign.  Her birthday is in August.  They have all the zodiac signs and lots of free charts.  I stitched his back and tail.
Leo update #3
The first cross stitch gift I made for my daughter was A Paris Kiss by Vervaco.  I only stitched it when she was at work, so it was a complete surprise when I gave it to her for her birthday!  This was my first time stitching on linen.

She picked out this Day of the Dead sugar skull from the Twisted Stitches book, so I stitched this one for her, too!
Day of the Dead
I also made her this bookmark.  "J'aime lire" means "I love to read."  This was a freebie from Les petits bonheurs de Miss T blog.

I've also stitched these French Christmas ornaments for her future Christmas tree, but haven't finished them into actual ornaments yet.  We really should have a crafty weekend some day and finish them up!

April ornament and WIPocalypse update!

I'm in the 2013 Ornament SAL, where we stitch a new ornament each month for any holiday.  My April ornament is C'est Noel, a freebie from The Sampler Girl. I used DMC Light Effects and DMC Satin floss (so slippery!).  One of these days I'll try to make these finishes into actual ornaments!

Since my last WIPocalypse update in March, I have had lots of finishes and progress on my SALs.

The Bear and the Bees is an old chart from The Prairie Schooler, but you can still find it HERE.

These bookmarks will be Mother's Day gifts.  The free design is from Linen Flowers.

I stitched All's Good in the Hood by Kincavel Krosses for my son's birthday present.  It can be a housewarming gift too, since he just got a new job in a different state!

I started a new SAL with Linda for Thankful Critters, an Imaginating chart by Ursula Michael.  We stitch on this one every other weekend.  I'll stitch 1-2 letters each month so it will be finished by Thanksgiving.
Thankful Critters update #2
I'm also in a new SAL for Bothy Threads Cut Thru' designs.  I stitch the Igloo on Mondays.  When this is finished, I'll keep going and stitch another Cut Thru' from my WIP list, North Pole House and/or Pirate Ship.
Cut Thru' Igloo update #3
The current pics of all of my WIPs are always on my WIPocalypse page. Remember to check in on Measi's blog with a link to your WIPocalypse update, too!

November 28-30, per Random Number Generator!

Well, I met my goal of stitching something different everyday in November using the Random Number Generator, but now I'm going to stop and concentrate on my SALs and Christmas gifts.  We only have three weeks to go!

November 28 - #13 First Love Wedding Record.  This was my Day #7 start in the Ultimate Crazy January Challenge.  I want to make this for my brother and his girlfriend, even though they haven't set a date yet!  Today I stitched the boy's chin and part of his face.  It's on 18 ct Ivory Aida.
First Love Wedding Record update #1
November 29 - #15 Star Wars.  This was my Day #9 start back in January. Today I finished Luke Skywalker.  He will be joined by Chewbacca, Han Solo, Princess Leia, C3P0, and R2D2. I bought this chart from Wee Little Stitches.  I'm stitching it on 14 ct blue Aida.
Star Wars update #1
November 30 - #44 C'est Noel.  This is a free chart from The Sampler Girl.  I'm using DMC Light Effects metallic floss in gold and other colors.  It's a real challenge to stitch with!  The fabric is hand-dyed dark green 14 ct Aida with sparkles.  I finished the words today.  There will be holly berries and leaves on both sides.
C'est Noel update #1
There are still lots of WIPs on my WIPocalypse page that didn't come up with the Random Number Generator.  I'll try to get back to those too, so they don't turn into UFOs!  Happy Holiday Stitching, everyone!

Halloween House SAL update #6

Halloween House update #6
On this Friday, I stitched more of the purple house below the window and started on the black wrought iron fence.  The dark purple floss I am using was a free skein from Rosace Threads, and now I notice that the color is slightly different than the DMC, so I hope one skein will be enough for the whole house!  Rosace gave away 3 skeins of floss to everyone last year.  The company is in Spain and they use the same floss numbers as DMC.  The cost is only 0.50 Euros each, so maybe this is a better price for my stitchy friends in Europe.
Bird update #1
I am really enjoying stitching this Bird for World of Charity Stitching.  Everyone is stitching the same freebie pattern from a French blog, gazette94, in their own choice of color, and they will all be put together in a quilt.

Spooky
Day #54 is Spooky, a freebie from a Hungarian blog, amintkipattan.  The chart was just the right size for a bookmark.  I think it's adorable!
C'est Noel
Day #55 is C'est Noel, a freebie from The Sampler Girl.  I am using DMC Light Effects metallic floss, which is very difficult!  I have to be so careful that it doesn't kink up with every stitch, so I didn't get very much done on it.  I am stitching on green hand-dyed Aida with sparkles.  My plan is to make it into an ornament with ribbon trim and backing fabric in a holiday print.

You can see all my current WIPs on my WIPocalypse page.  In just a few more days, I will not be starting a new project everyday and will be filling up my Finishes 2012 page instead!
