Theme-A-Licious March Madness (week 1)

The theme for this month is March Madness, "Work on something different every day... it's madness... of the funnest possible kind."  I used the Random Number Generator to pick a number from 1-96 for a WIP from my WIPocalypse list to stitch on each day.  I'll post an update every Saturday with the choices for the prior week.

March 1 - #3, Thai Dancer:  I stitched more of her arm and the cuff of jewelry.

March 2 - #23, Boule Pastel:  I filled in the yellow stripe of this ornament on perforated paper.

March 3 - #76, Alice from Resident Evil:  I stitched some black shadow by her face.

March 4 - #39, Beach Babe:  I stitched some purple stripes in her swimsuit.

November 19-21, per Random Number Generator!

The Random Number Generator has been choosing some small designs lately, but two nice ones to get into the Christmas spirit!

November 19 - #2 Bear Hug.  This is a very old kit from The Creative Circle that I started in 1988.  Did you ever go to one of their needlework home parties?  I went to a few of them and wanted to try all the cross stitch and needlepoint and crewel and candlewicking designs, too!  My friends and I were in our 20s and were always going to or having Tupperware parties, Princess House crystal parties, candle parties, kitchen gadget parties, House of Lloyd home decor and toy parties, and even a negligee and X-rated toy party!

I finished the little bear being hugged by the big bear.

November 20 - #33 Boule Pastel.  This is another free chart I found on a French blog, Le Blog de Vava. It is stitched on perforated paper.  Instead of pastel colors, I chose sparkly red and a yellow background.  I will add more green and red Christmas colors, too!

November 21 - #49 Boules Baroques.  What a coincidence that the Random Number Generator chose another freebie from Le Blog de Vava!  I am stitching these ornaments on perforated paper with a single color of floss.  I finished one ornament using the color mauve.  I will put felt on the back and hang it with a ribbon.

Halloween House SAL update #4

I made a little more progress on Halloween House this week, by finishing the window, doorway, and porch railing.  Maybe next Friday I will actually stitch on it all day long!  You can see everyone's progress HERE.

Day #39 is Boule Bordeaux, a freebie from Le blog de Vava.  Just click on "Grilles gratuites" on the right side of her blog for more free charts!  I am stitching this on perforated paper, which is very hard and stiff and nothing like paper at all.  I stitched the word "Noel" in white and started the background in gold metallic DMC 5282.

Day #40 is Boule Pastel, another freebie from Le blog de Vava.  Instead of using pastel pink, I will use red Jewel Effects floss.

On Saturday, I am meeting other stitchers from the SoCalCrossStitchers Yahoo group.  I plan to finish the Happy Easter Snow Globe this weekend and I'm not sure yet what else I will bring to stitch on.  If you live in Southern California, you should join this Yahoo group and come to the monthly get-togethers to stitch!  Have a great weekend, everybody!
