WIPocalypse update #8 and LOTS of finishes!

I've had six finishes since the last WIPocalypse update!  I finished Cackle, Trick or Treat, Spring & Fall (April), Santa's 12 Days of Christmas (Day 2), a Butterfly ornament, and a long lost UFO from 1998!  Welcome Cottage was all stitched except for the word, "Welcome," which I finished and framed today.  The kit came with the printed mat.

I also added backstitching to Dog House Sampler, which I finished last year but I was never happy with it since the dog bone and fence blended into the fabric.  Now it's framed in a perfect blue and brown frame that I bought at a thrift store.

I also started the Passione Ricamo Fairy Mystery SAL and the Lizzie*Kate Very Scary Mystery Sampler.

What a busy stitching month I've had!  You can see current pics of all of my WIPs on my WIPocalypse page.  Don't forget to check in on Measi's blog with a link to your WIPocalypse update, too!

Happy Stitching, everyone!

Days #50-#52

I am finally caught up on all my new starts for the Super-Duper Ultimate Crazy February Challenge!  Only 8 more days of February with 8 new starts to go!  Some of the charts still need to be printed, but I'm out of printer ink right now.  I think I will email them to myself and print them at my mom's house.

Day #50 is Noel, an ornament from NeedleMagic, Inc.  I bought a lot of ornament kits from Linda last year.  I love it when they come with the frame.  My Christmas tree will be covered with cross-stitched ornaments!
Day #51 is Ariel, a Disney ornament from Janlynn.  I bought a lot of these last year from Janlynn when they had a Disney clearance sale.  I want to stitch an ornament for everyone in the family.  This one will be for my niece.
Day #53 is Butterfly, an ornament from Designs for the Needle.  This one will be for my daughter for Christmas.  I'm looking forward to giving everyone a new ornament!

You can see all my planned starts for February on my SDUCFC page.  I actually listed 4 ornaments each for three of the days, so I'm planning to stitch 12 of these little ornaments with frames for everyone (and some for myself).  It feels great to have a head start on Christmas gifts already!

WOCS - Butterfly - finished!

I finished this cute butterfly for World of Charity Stitching. They are going to make a quilt with 36 butterflies in different colors with different fabric around each one. I am so happy to stitch these small squares and know they will be part of something beautiful.

I was surprised to be mentioned by Connie Barwick at the Craft Gossip blog! You may recognize her from Crossstitch.About.com.

Linda and I both missed our SAL last Friday, but I got a little more stitching done tonight on "Trick or Treat" by Ursula Michael.  This lemon yellow color #307 is bright and cheery.  I love stitching with this color floss!  Do you have a favorite color to stitch with?

Two new starts for WOCS!

I am stitching a purple butterfly square for World of Charity Stitching.  The members all stitch the same butterfly pattern, but in different colors.  The squares will be made into a beautiful quilt!  You may think it's not centered in the Q-Snap frame, but I did that on purpose, since it will only be 6"x6" square, and then I can save the leftover Aida to make bookmarks.

I also started stitching Fairies, a chart from a book, Top 100 Cross Stitch Motifs by Michaela Learner.  I am stitching 2 over 2 on 28-count opalescent Zweigart evenweave and using DMC Pearlescent and Light Effects floss.  These fairies will be so pretty on a Fairy quilt to be donated to a child at a domestic abuse shelter.

The pretty Q-snap huggies are made by Christine Wilson and you can order them on her website.

Gracie suggested a postcard exchange and I sent and received 5 postcards from stitchers in Arizona, Pennsylvania, and the United Kingdom. My cat Billy wanted to be in the pic too!
