Stitchy Christmas goodies!

I received a wonderful surprise from Linda, who sent me all these great stitchy surprise gifts!  There are three mini kits with wooden frames and magnets, two charts, a Cross Stitch magazine, and three great pieces of fabric, including Hallows Eve by Sassy's Fabbys.  I'll use that for a Halloween design next year for sure!  Thank you so much, Linda!

My son and daughter gave me some stitchy goodies, too!  My son ordered the Wizard of Oz puzzle from Herrschner's that I asked for, but then he called me and told me to pick out more items so he could spend enough to get free shipping, so I chose this Christmas cross stitch book and some 28 ct hand-dyed Jobelan fabric to also use for a Halloween design next year.  My daughter surprised me with an OttLite Task Lamp!  She bought me the OttLite Craft Caddy Lamp two years ago, which I use everyday.  Now I have a portable light to take with me to stitching GTGs (get-togethers).

I didn't finish my dad's gift in time, but his birthday is in 12 days, so I'll give it to him then.  I finished the wire wheel thing on the top right.  Lots of backstitching!
So Many Tools update #14
I was spending lots of time decorating the tree, wrapping presents, baking cookies, and making fudge!

I also joined the Turtle Trot SAL hosted by BAP Attack.  We pick 13 WIPs/UFOs and stitch a little on each and post progress pics by the 13th of each month.  I listed my choices on my Turtle Trot 2013 page.

I had success with my eBay auctions of cross stitch and crewel kits.  Almost all of them sold.  The high seller was the Elegant Peacock crewel kit, which sold for $81!  Yippee!

Christmas gift finish and update!

I finished this fun cross stitch picture for my son!  Now I am looking for just the right frame so I can send it to him for Christmas.  He lives in a different state.  The Sprite-Stitch forum has lots of video-game themed cross stitch patterns.

I am still working on this Sony Playstation Christmas gift also. I am finally finished with all the gray in the body of the controller.  Next, I will stitch the handles and the buttons and it will be done.  I already have a frame for it.

I made a new page on my blog for the WIPocalypse 2012.  All my current WIP's will be shown here.  I will update the pics every full moon.  To join the WIPocalypse SAL, sign up on Measi's blog.

I am in the Christmas holiday spirit now!  I'm getting closer to having my Christmas gifts finished, and I'm wearing an apron, baking cookies, and listening to Christmas music!  This is the first batch that I baked last night - Peanut Butter Blossoms!  Yummy!  I posted the recipe with step-by-step photos on my other blog HERE.

Hen on Nest update #1

I kind of pooped out on the Crazy January Challenge.  I still have to start on the small items for Days #9-15.  I've been stitching on "Hen on Nest" for my mom.  Here is a little progress, along with a pic of what it will look like when it's finished:

I baked some yummy chocolate cookies yesterday!  See pics and recipe on my other blog.

Oh so close, but not quite!

It looks like I almost made it!  I put this in the frame and gave it to my friend and her new husband after the wedding, but then told her I needed just a couple more hours to finish the backstitching to outline the groom and gifts in front of the bike.  They are leaving town to go back on the road (cross-country truckers) on Monday, so I will give her the completed project then.  Whew!  That was so close, but I'm still happy.

I spent about 3 days making these cookies for her wedding; one day for the cookies, one day for the white chocolate diamonds, and one day for decorating.  She added them to pretty gift bags with gold Hershey Kisses that had a sticker on the bottom with their names and wedding date, all wrapped up with a fancy ribbon and placed at everyone's place setting at the reception.
