Crazy January starts 28-31

Is the Ultimate Crazy month of January over?!  I have started something new every day, and now it's time to stitch, stitch, stitch away for the rest of the year! Lucky for me, I'll get to meet the stitchy ladies of the Southern California Cross Stitchers Yahoo Group on Saturday for a get-together at We, of the Needle, a LNS that has a wonderful stitchy room reserved for us!

Day #28 is Quaker Moon by Bent Creek.  I bought this chart on my last outing with the SoCalCrossStitchers group last October.  Isn't the owl just adorable? I'm stitching over 2 on 28 ct tan linen and the finished size will be about 5.5" square.

Day #29 is Orange Poppies by Thea Gouverneur.  This is a wonderful kit!  The chart pages are nice and big and clear.  The floss was presorted on cards with the color symbols.  They do not provide any floss names or numbers, so I could never pass the chart on when I'm done.  I bought this kit from 123Stitch.  It came with a huge piece of fabric, so I'm glad I can roll it up and tuck it into the Q-Snap huggies.  I'm stitching it on 18 ct black Aida and will be 17.7" x 18.5".

Day #30 is Christmas on the Beach, a Dimensions Gold Collection kit.  I also bought this kit from 123Stitch.  You can find almost everything there!  I'm using the 18 ct white Aida in the kit and it will be 7" x 5".

Day #31 is Cut Thru' Pirate Ship from Bothy Threads.  This is a restart from 2012.  I had to rip out everything I did, since the fabric was turned the wrong way!  (see previous post here)  Has this ever happened to you?  Sharine asked if it counts as a new start, so I've been thinking about that ever since.  I'm going to consider it a new start effective today!  I am stitching on 18 ct light blue Aida and it will be 12" x 9".

November 13-15, per Random Number Generator!

I'm having so much fun using the Random Number Generator to help me decide what to stitch each day!  I'm glad that so many WIPs are getting more attention now, instead of just sitting in a box and waiting.

November 13 - #9 Hummingbird.  This is a free chart by Teresa Wentzler and can be found HERE.  I started this on Day #3 of the UCJC.  It is on 16 ct Angel Blush Aida and will be 4.25" square.  The leaves and flowers are stitched over 2, and the hummingbird will be stitched over 1.  I did all the green in the leaves today.  The white border is done with perle cotton.

November 14 - #22 Cut Thru' Pirate Ship.  This was my Day #23 start of the Ultimate Crazy January Challenge, but after my first day of stitching, I realized that the fabric was turned the wrong way!  So today I did some reverse stitching and frogged out everything I had stitched before.  It's time for a fresh start!  It seemed to take me all day to get these stitches out on 18 ct Aida and I'm frustrated, so I'm going to put it away for now.  You can buy the chart in the USA HERE.

November 15 - #37 Dance of the Geckos.  I found this free cross stitch chart HERE.  I started this one in the Super Duper Ultimate Crazy February Challenge but haven't touched it since.  It will be a gift for my mom and is stitched on 14 ct black Aida using DMC Light Effects floss.  I finished the purple gecko, but it still needs gold metallic floss for the eyes and the design on its back.  There will be two more geckos in other colors.

Day #23 - Cut Thru' Pirate Ship

Day #23 of my Ultimate Crazy January Challenge is Cut Thru' Pirate Ship by Bothy Threads.  I was pretty pleased with my progress UNTIL I took it out of the Qsnaps and realized that I had the fabric turned the wrong way!  Aaaack!  The same thing happened to Ruth and I even commented on her blog that I would be careful not to make the same mistake, which is exactly what I did!  This mistake must be contagious, since I've been reading about it on blogs all over the place!  Boo hoo... I am not looking forward to ripping all these stitches out.  It's going to the bottom of my stitching pile for awhile.  Grrrrr!

On a more cheery note, here is my teeny-tiny progress on Santa's 12 Days of Christmas.  I stitched the brown wing of the Partridge in a Pear Tree.  This is a Sunday SAL with Linda and Kaye.
