I'm getting close to the finish line on this project! I still need to finish the border, two eggs, a tail feather, and backstitching. I will give this to my mom for her birthday in May.

Sleeping Teddy - finished!
This is my second finish of 2011 and the first finish of my Crazy January Challenge. It is also the first cross-stitched Christmas ornament I have ever made. It was fun to work on while I was sitting in the waiting room between appointments. The kit came with the green plastic house-shaped frame.

Hen on Nest update #3
This gift for my mom is coming right along! I think it will be done pretty soon, and then I can pick up something else from my Crazy January Challenge.
I see that I have almost 50 followers! Wow! I will have some kind of giveaway to celebrate when I hit that milestone. Thanks to everyone for following my stitching!

A Paris Kiss update #2
The romantic mystery man has a face now! I'm really having a great time stitching on this project. Now I have to decide whether to stitch on his body or start on the woman's face instead.
Thanks for watching this piece come to life!

Grandchildren Tree - framed
Luckily I had scanned a pic of this stamped cross stitch that I was making for my grandma. It has the names and birthdays of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It was in the car and was burned up in the accident in December. I had to add the last two names that weren't stitched yet using the Microsoft Paint program. I printed the picture and framed it for my grandma. She is 98 years old. I'm really happy with how it looks. We plan to visit her soon, but she lives 4 hours away.

Latch hook rug pillows
I finished these two latch hook rugs over 10 years ago, but never made them into pillows. I found wonderful matching flannel fabric for the pillow backs and had the rug binding and pillow forms all ready to put together. They have been sitting in a bag in the garage all this time. My niece's 5th birthday is tomorrow, and she likes kitties and wants to be a cowgirl like Jessie from Toy Story. These pillows would be the perfect gift for her! I washed and ironed the fabric, soaked the rugs in sudsy water and then ironed on the rug binding. Now I just need to haul out the sewing machine so I can put them together at last! I have 24 hours until the party!
Hurray! Finally clearing out a couple of UFOs!
ADDENDUM: I ended up hand-sewing the pillows. She loved them!

Quilt, Craft and Sewing Festival
Even though I am "car-less" at the moment, I made it to the Craft Show at the LA Fairgrounds in Pomona today. I took the Metrolink train and rode a city bus for the first time! It was perfect weather in the 80s with blue skies. I made a needlebook with a yo-yo fabric circle decoration on the cover. They sold different sizes of plastic circles to make yo-yo quilting pieces and patterns to make dolls or animals. It was a busy booth with lots of customers.
I talked to the ladies at the ANG/EGA booth and got info about their chapters and meetings. They had a display of gorgeous projects showing different types of stitches besides the cross stitch. Someday I would love to try these.
I also visited the Bobbie G Designs booth 3 times! I kept looking at the charts and kits. They had a special of Buy 3 Get 1 Free. At the end, I ended up not buying anything. I have so many kits waiting for me at home.
I did buy some pretty new stork scissors, a glass nail file, pretty notepad, and a Tooth Fairy ceramic trinket box for my niece. She just lost her first tooth and turned 5 today! Her party is this Saturday.
Now that I'm home, I will get back to stitching!

A Paris Kiss update #1
This is my first experience stitching on 28 ct linen over 2. I love how easily the needle and floss slide right through! This is a gift for my daughter, which I don't want her to see until it is finished, so when she is home, I switch over to the Hen on Nest for my mom or the Christmas ornaments. It has some faint printed background of the Eiffel Tower. The colors are all in brown and sepia tones. I am almost done stitching the man's hair. He is leaning down to kiss a woman.

Hen on Nest update #2
I've been stitching away on this gift for my mom. The brown floss colors are a little darker than shown in the picture, but it will be OK. It is stitched with 3 threads. This is easy to stitch because there are blocks of color.
I joined a new blog today called Let's Stitch, where we share our stitching progress every weekend.

TUSAL #3
It's another New Moon and time for an update pic of my ORT jar! Thanks to Daffycat for starting this Totally Useless Stitch-A-Long!
Day #13 - Santa's List
Another Christmas ornament from my Crazy January Challenge list is in progress! Only two more to go until I'm caught up to where I should have been on January 15th. I think it's so much fun to have 15 WIP to work on. I've only stitched one at a time before. These little ornaments are the perfect thing to work on in the waiting room for doctor appointments.
