Stitch From Stash January

Stitch From Stash Group 2014
Mel from Epic Stitching started a Stitch From Stash group to encourage us to stay on a budget of less than $25 per month for cross stitching.  Click the link to see the list of blogs that are participating.  This challenge has already saved me money, since I thought twice about buying some new kits "for the future" that I didn't really need. Here is my check-in for January:

Amount Spent:  $0.00, ZERO! ZILCH! NADA!

New Starts from Stash: Wicked Witch, Count Your Blessings, Life's a Stitch, Happy Easter, Hungarian Peacock Sampler, Snow Bear and Sleigh, Collection, Nesting Season, Wolf, The Wizard of Oz, Alice from Resident Evil, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Boos Brothers, Spring Sampler, Cats in Hats - Samantha, Jacks are Wild, October Witch Snowlady, Trick or Treat Greeting, Disney Princesses Pixel People, Woodland Splendor, Penguins at Play.

WIPs or UFOs worked on: Universal Unity, I'll Get You My Pretty, Basket of Fruit, Very Scary, Easter Hang-Up, Merci, Out for a Ride, The IT Crowd, Bird Nest (No 2), Bear, Star Wars, Pac-Man, Eeyore and Butterfly, Boo! Club (Fright), La Pensée Positive, Gatitos, Triple Jack-O-Lanterns, Shiver Me Timbers, Holiday Cheer, Disney Princess Birth Announcement, Autumn Heart, Gallinas, Candy Cane Christmas.

I'm still a few days behind in my Crazy January starts, or my list would have been longer!  No finishes this month yet.  I'll include the end of January info in my February post next month.

I loved Tricia's idea (The Stamper's Stitches) of showing what she didn't buy this month.  Here is what I was tempted to get "just because" but I resisted and didn't spend a penny!

  10. That's quite a line-up of new starts and WIPs! It's pretty hard isn't it, to Not buy something you want! I'm glad Mel has made Qsnaps exempt because I need at least 2 of those. Have a nice day!

  11. Well done on your zero spend. I've just suggested to a lady who lives near to me that she could do a swap with me if she needs something that would be SFS - Swap from Stash lol. That wouldn't count would it??

  12. Funny thing about those little ornament kits...I have dozens of Disney ones in my stash, but they take FOREVER to finish! You'd think something so small would only take a couple of hours, but they are horrible to do!

  14. Love the idea of stitching from stash.. I am trying to finish one WIP per month. I only have 4 but one might take 3 months!! I am making progress on my cut thro Beach Hut but I have only just noticed that the sides have bits missing. My chart was from a magazine so perhaps it was made smaller?
Well done on finishing your Cut thro design.

  17. Well done, Debbie! I also loved Tricia's idea to show what she did not buy. I put all the charts that catch my interest on a special wish list which I browse through every now and then And eliminate the wishes that aren't so urgent any longer, lol.

  21. You did well! Wasn't tempted to go shopping but got all excited reading Paulette's blog and that there was a new design from Plumstreet but sadly, only as a kit and a limited one at that. Wish it could be released as a chart in a few months. Just can't justify a kit :(
