YOTA UFO Update - June

I'm in the YOTA (Year of the Acronym) SAL, where we post a picture on the first Saturday of the month of one of our UFO cross stitch projects.  I started Universal Unity in 1998 and am finally making progress this year!  It is a Dimensions Gold Collection kit.

Here is the before pic from the May YOTA post:

I finished the tiger's neck and started one of his front legs.
Universal Unity update #9
What a nice surprise I got from Lija and Joanne!  They both told me that I was featured as "Blogger of the Month" in the newest issue of The World of Cross Stitching magazine (issue 204, page 57).  I had no idea!  Thank you both so much for sending me pics of the page!

May WIPocalypse update

It seems like May has been a slow stitching month for me.  I've only had one finish since the last WIPocalypse update.  You can see current pics of all my WIPs on my WIPocalypse page.

The focus colors for this month are purple and brown.  The brown letter "T" is almost done on Thankful Critters, but there should be a bunny on top.
Thankful Critters update #4
Boo Club has some purple letters, and I almost finished Creepy, but not quite.
Boo! Club (Creepy) update #1
Remember to check in on Measi's blog with a link to your WIPocalypse update, too!  I'm in the mood for another themed blog post coming up soon, so stay tuned!

Happy Stitching, everyone!

Cut Thru' Igloo update #7 and #8

I've been out of touch since I went camping and we had no internet!  Last week I stitched the Eskimo's tiny Christmas tree in the igloo.
Cut Thru' Igloo update #7
Then this week I stitched a Christmas pudding on the table next to the tree! You can see everyone's progress on the Bothy Threads Cut Thru' SAL page.
Cut Thru' Igloo update #8
Here are a few non-stitchy vacation photos from last week. We have trees all over with mistletoe growing on the branches. Do you see this where you live, too?
There were warning signs about the wildlife, but all we saw were birds and squirrels!

I was only 10 miles from home, but these mountains block out my cell phone service and internet!
I only stitched about 2 hours all week.  Can you believe it?  I'm almost caught up with emails but I haven't been blog-hopping yet!

Cut Thru' Igloo update #6

Now you can see mistletoe in the Igloo, right above the Eskimo (waiting for a kiss) and his Christmas cards are hanging up.
Cut Thru' Igloo update #6
How do you display your Christmas cards?  I put mine in the slats of the wooden shutters in my dining room last year.
You can see everyone's progress on the Bothy Threads Cut Thru' Monday SAL page.  We have 12 members now and we're all having so much fun stitching these great designs!  There are 3-4 more members in the Bothy Threads Cut Thru Designs Monday SAL Facebook group also!

Turtle Trot SAL - May

For the Turtle Trot SAL, we choose 13 WIPs to work on and post progress pics on the 13th of every month.  Claudette from BAP-Attack also gives a turtle-themed prize once a month.  I won last month and she sent me these adorable kissing turtles salt & pepper shakers!  Thank you so much, Claudette!
Here is my progress since last month.  I didn't stitch on all 13 WIPs (like Linda did).  You can click on the picture to see it bigger.

Universal Unity: I stitched the tiger's ear and more fur around his face.

Stitching pumpkins and May TUSAL post!

Orange is a great color, and I've been stitching pumpkins and Jack o'lanterns on lots of different designs.  I thought it would be fun to post them all together!

The Lizzie*Kate Very Scary Mystery Sampler is my first time using Weeks Dye Works overdyed floss and 30 ct linen.  The design is cute but the colors just aren't bright enough for me!  I will stitch this one little by little, but everyone knows it's my least favorite WIP.  I stitched two pumpkins, then rewarded myself by stitching more pumpkins on my other WIPs instead!
Very Scary (part 1) update #5
I love this colorful Thanksgiving design, Thankful Critters, an Imaginating chart by Ursula Michael.  I stitched the bright orange pumpkin in front of the letter "T" but I used the wrong color green for the vine, so that will be ripped out.
Thankful Critters update #3
I stitched two little pumpkin faces on Quaker Moon by Bent Creek.
Quaker Moon update #3
I bought this cute Triple Jack-o-Lanterns kit by Bobbie G Designs last year.  I started stitching the striped pumpkin in the middle of the stack.
Triple Jack-o-Lanterns update #1
I stitched more pumpkins on Fall Welcome, an Imaginating chart by Diane Arthurs.
Fall Welcome update #1
I have another Imaginating chart by Diane Arthurs, Blessings Hang-Up.  I stitched two pumpkins in her basket.
Blessings Hang-Up update #1
There is another Jack o'lantern on Halloween House also!
Halloween House update #33
Another new moon, so time for another TUSAL post!  My ORT jar is really filling up this year!  Check in on Daffycat's blog with your May TUSAL blog post, too!

I hope you enjoyed my pumpkin blog post today!  Happy Stitching!

Cut Thru' Igloo update #5!

A little penguin bringing a present is waiting to come into the igloo!  I stitched this part last night on Monday. I wonder which part I will stitch next Monday night.  You can see everyone's progress on the Bothy Threads Cut Thru' Monday SAL page.  We have 12 members now and we're all having so much fun stitching these great designs!

I bought the lavender 14 ct Aida from Stitchnmomma.

YOTA UFO Update - May

I'm in the YOTA (Year of the Acronym) SAL, where we post a picture on the first Saturday of the month of one of our UFO cross stitch projects.  I started Universal Unity in 1998 and am finally making progress this year!  It is a Dimensions Gold Collection kit.

Here is the before pic from the April YOTA post:

Now by the first Saturday in May, I have finished the tiger's nose, mouth, ear, and the other side of his face.  He is still waiting patiently for his front paws.

SAL updates!

On Fridays, I stitch on Halloween House.  The two chimneys and the black cat on the roof are finished, and most of the backstitching on the house.  I still need to backstitch the window and ghosts on the top.
Halloween House update #32
On Saturdays, I stitch on the Spring & Fall and Summer & Winter designs by The Prairie Schooler.  The July eagle is finished!  Instead of starting the August square next, Linda and I are going to stitch Santa Hang-Up and Thankful Critters every other weekend.

On Sundays, I'm supposed to stitch on Santa's 12 Days of Christmas, but that hasn't been touched in over a month!  Hopefully I'll have an update next time.

On Mondays, I stitch on Cut Thru' Igloo for the Bothy Threads Cut Thru' SAL. The Eskimo has a little seal friend who came for a visit!  I'm stitching on 14 ct lavender Aida from Stitchnmomma.
Cut Thru' Igloo update #4
I also found the perfect frame for All's Good in the Hood!  The size is 6" x 11".

April ornament and WIPocalypse update!

I'm in the 2013 Ornament SAL, where we stitch a new ornament each month for any holiday.  My April ornament is C'est Noel, a freebie from The Sampler Girl. I used DMC Light Effects and DMC Satin floss (so slippery!).  One of these days I'll try to make these finishes into actual ornaments!

Since my last WIPocalypse update in March, I have had lots of finishes and progress on my SALs.

The Bear and the Bees is an old chart from The Prairie Schooler, but you can still find it HERE.

These bookmarks will be Mother's Day gifts.  The free design is from Linen Flowers.

I stitched All's Good in the Hood by Kincavel Krosses for my son's birthday present.  It can be a housewarming gift too, since he just got a new job in a different state!

I started a new SAL with Linda for Thankful Critters, an Imaginating chart by Ursula Michael.  We stitch on this one every other weekend.  I'll stitch 1-2 letters each month so it will be finished by Thanksgiving.
Thankful Critters update #2
I'm also in a new SAL for Bothy Threads Cut Thru' designs.  I stitch the Igloo on Mondays.  When this is finished, I'll keep going and stitch another Cut Thru' from my WIP list, North Pole House and/or Pirate Ship.
Cut Thru' Igloo update #3
The current pics of all of my WIPs are always on my WIPocalypse page. Remember to check in on Measi's blog with a link to your WIPocalypse update, too!
