Another finish and 3 SAL updates!

I stayed up all night to finish this light switch plate cover on time!  It was a gift for my boyfriend's elderly aunt who is in her 80s.  We visited her on Monday and she was thrilled and put it up in her dining room right away.  Now I wish that I took another picture of it on the wall.

Here is my SAL progress for Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday:
Santa's 12 Days of Christmas update #4

Mr. Mittens update #2

BBQ Queen update #2
Here is a pic of the Pacific Ocean on Monday:

I went to a museum on Tuesday and saw the Chinese warriors statues that were buried in tombs.  There are thousands and thousands of soldiers, all different, but only a few came to visit California!

Happy Easter Snow Globe finished!

Hurray! I finished this Happy Easter Snow Globe for World of Charity Stitching.  It will be added to a quilt with lots of other snow globe designs by Vee and Co Cross Stitch.

This is my first update pic for the Saturday Prairie Schooler SAL with Linda and Rosemary of the Spring & Fall, Summer & Winter monthly designs. This one is March, with a lion and lamb.  I finished the lamb and it's hard to see it now, but it will be surrounded by grass in front and the lion in back and will look much better next time!

Halloween House SAL update #4

I made a little more progress on Halloween House this week, by finishing the window, doorway, and porch railing.  Maybe next Friday I will actually stitch on it all day long!  You can see everyone's progress HERE.

Day #39 is Boule Bordeaux, a freebie from Le blog de Vava.  Just click on "Grilles gratuites" on the right side of her blog for more free charts!  I am stitching this on perforated paper, which is very hard and stiff and nothing like paper at all.  I stitched the word "Noel" in white and started the background in gold metallic DMC 5282.

Day #40 is Boule Pastel, another freebie from Le blog de Vava.  Instead of using pastel pink, I will use red Jewel Effects floss.

On Saturday, I am meeting other stitchers from the SoCalCrossStitchers Yahoo group.  I plan to finish the Happy Easter Snow Globe this weekend and I'm not sure yet what else I will bring to stitch on.  If you live in Southern California, you should join this Yahoo group and come to the monthly get-togethers to stitch!  Have a great weekend, everybody!

Days #36-#38 and SAL updates!

Linda and I have a Monday snowman SAL.  I have Mr. Mittens and she has Snow Pals.  We have been stitching a little every Monday and finally posted an update pic.

For our Wednesday SAL, I have BBQ Queen and Linda has Lady Liberty, both by Diane Arthurs.

Day #36 is The Bear and the Bees by Prairie Schooler.  Linda also started the same chart, but she stitched the bear and I stitched the bees!  I am using 14 ct Fiddler's cloth.

Day #37 is Hands Off My Book, a bookmark designed by Lady Kell of Kincavel.  This is a free chart from her blog.  I am using variegated purple floss on an 18 ct ivory Aida bookmark.

Day #38 is All's Good in the 'Hood, also designed by Lady Kell of Kincavel.  This one was not a freebie, and I bought this chart from Kincavel Krosses.  I am using variegated dark red floss on 14 ct Dirty Aida.  This will be a gift for my son.  I think it will look great in his house, instead of the usual "Home Sweet Home" sampler!

WIPocalypse update #2

It's another Full Moon and time to check in for the WIPocalypse on Measi's blog!  I am trying to finish this Happy Easter Snow Globe for World of Charity Stitching so it can be added to a quilt with other snow globes designed by Vee and Co Cross Stitch.  You can see all of my WIPs on my WIPocalypse 2012 page.

Day #35 is Bird by gazette94.  This will also be donated to World of Charity Stitching to be added to a quilt. Everyone is stitching the same bird, but choosing their own color.  I am using variegated blue.

Now I have to hurry and put the dogs outside and go to a doctor's appointment and get a haircut today!  Have a great stitching day, everyone!

Santa's 12 Days of Christmas SAL update #3

I finished the partridge in Santa's 1st day of Christmas, but I still have a lot more to go!  I'll never get all 12 done this year unless I finish one each month!  This is a Sunday SAL with Linda and Kaye.

Day #34 is Eeyore & Butterfly, a Disney kit from Janlynn that I got from their 90% off sale.  My mom asked me to stitch something for her neighbor who loves Eeyore.  She always feeds my mom's dogs and cat when my parents are out of town.

Days #31-#33 - Three new starts!

Day #31 of my Ultimate Crazy January Challenge is Boo! Club from Lizzie Kate.  I will be stitching all 12 pictures on one piece of 28 ct Prairie Grain linen, stitched over 2.  The first double flip-it is Spooky/Treats.  The finished size will be 5.5" x 24".

Day #32 of my Super-Duper Ultimate Crazy February Challenge is the Rose Border light switch cover from Fond Memories, designed by Laura Doyle.  I bought a light switch cover cross stitch kit at a thrift store for $1, and someone had already stitched Bless This House and started stitching a house.  I picked out the house but decided to leave the words and stitch the Rose Border around it.  This will be a gift for my boyfriend's elderly aunt, and I think she will like the Bless This House words along with the roses!

Day #33 is Bon Noel by gazette94.  I decided to use variegated green, yellow, and red floss.  I will try my first ornament finish on this one with backing fabric and stuffing and a cute ribbon trim.  Wish me luck!  This is also my posting for the X-Stitching Christmas Challenge for the first Saturday of the month.

Halloween House SAL update #3

This is my weekly progress pic of Halloween House, a Friday SAL with 11 stitchers!  You can see everyone's progress pics each week on a page on Linda's blog HERE.  We just got a new member from Poland who sent her first progress pic.  We all started stitching this fun chart in completely different places!

Days #28-#30 - Three new starts!

Day #28 of my Ultimate Crazy January Challenge was Cut Thru' North Pole House from Bothy Threads.  I bought this kit from Bothy Threads in the UK because I thought it was just adorable!  I love all the details!

Day #29 of my Ultimate Crazy January Challenge was Spring & Fall from The Prairie Schooler.  I started off with the month of March, the lion and the lamb.  Someone gave me this cross stitch fabric with printed borders.  There are three pieces of it with a blank square, circle, and oval in the middle.  I decided to use this for all 12 months in the Spring & Fall and Summer & Winter charts by cutting the pieces into fourths.  I don't mind the printed fabric at all, and think it will look pretty neat!  Linda, Rosemary, and I are having a SAL of these 12 months and trying to finish one per month.

Day #30 of my Ultimate Crazy January Challenge is The 12 Days of Christmas from The Prairie Schooler.  I am stitching on light tan 18 ct Aida that Linda gave to me.  It's just perfect for this chart!  Thank you, Linda!  I started near the center with "3 French hens."

I missed starting my last four new starts on time because I was staying at my parents' house for awhile, but now I'm home and excited to catch up!  Who knows, I might actually finish something this month, even though Linda and I plan to start 29 more new projects for each day in February, too.  Then I think we'll have enough to keep us busy for the rest of the year, don't you?

Happy Easter Snow Globe update #2

I am stitching this Happy Easter Snow Globe for World of Charity Stitching for a quilt with lots of other snow globes by Vee and Co Cross Stitch. After I finish the base, I will stitch the yellow bow on top and add some more snowflakes, and it will be finished!

All the Snow Globe patterns can be found here: http://veeandco.com/156614.html

Day #27 - So Many Tools

Day #27 of my Ultimate Crazy January Challenge is So Many Tools, a kit I bought many years ago to make for my dad. I am sure he will love it!

I will have to postpone my new starts for Days #28 - #31 until I get back home.

Happy Stitching, everyone!

Day #25 - Christmas Cactus

Day #25 of my Ultimate Crazy January Challenge is Christmas Cactus, a free pattern I found online at www.il-mondo-di-ezechiele.com . I love this bright green color, DMC 704, Bright Chartreuse, on the 14 ct red Aida. I brought this small project with me to the hospital and was able to stitch on it while I was waiting my turn for the operating room. I thought I would stitch on it again after the surgery but that was just silly of me to think I could! I was much too tired! I'm feeling a little better every day now.
Happy Stitching, everyone!
